:mad:How many times can one person attack me in one day? I mean 3 times back to back is more than enough. Especially since good can't make their own troops to protect themselves.:(
This was something I noticed right off the bat. I have been attacked over 70 times back to back. It completely drains you of any resources to continue building with. I think I'm starting to know how "dead towns" have appeared now...I know that I would be close to throwing in the towel if for weeks on end I couldn't make any progress in game because I kept getting hit.
Where have all the good men gone
And where are all the gods?
Where’s the street-wise Hercules
To fight the rising odds?
Isn’t there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and I turn and I dream of what I need:
I need a hero
I'm holding out for at hero 'till the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be soon
And he's gotta be ready to fight.
Ahem. This game offers some really sweet incentives for teamwork. We really, truely, need each other. Check your map. Check about 20 squares or so in all directions. Check out your attacker, his size, look for similarly sized to somewhat bigger evil accounts nearby. Send them a mail. Give a few details, like attack frequency, attacker troopcount and type, and your wall/guardhouse levels, and be honest about your (possibly limited) ability to repay help right away, and your willingness to repay it fairly over time. See who might be around to assist you - this can be quite fun for you both as well.
If you don't like needing another player's help (or several others) just to get your feet on the ground and succeed, then start talking in the other direction. Send a mail to your attacker. Don't whine, beg, complain, insult, threaten, or lie... just talk. Be a person talking to a person, and let them decide, do they really want to keep attacking you?
Very often (for normal personalities) a person finds it hard to treat someone acting like a human as an object. The more interaction you have with them, the harder it becomes. It's much easier to bring yourself to shoot someone at a distance then it is to go hands on and bloody with a knife up close.
Your farmer knows that he will get vastly more from you if he leaves you enough resources to feel like staying in the game. Furthermore, as time passes he's going to need basic resources less and less, in the amounts a small account offers. He needs people reasonably close who are closer to his size to feed off of, and unless he is quite dumb (or you've acted out and challenged him to destroy you without enough back up) he understands how much he needs people all game long to feed his appetites.
Don't like this suggestion either? Then I have one more for you.
I recommend (since we have no rules preventing it) that you stop logging into your farmed account and start over wherever the game puts you next.
Where your starting location is means a -lot-. Right now, you might be in the lap of a super-active evil dude who has no real competition within 80 squares. You and everyone in your neighborhood might be seen as toast, tea, and strawberry jam for his personal feast. That's fine - later game he's dead, let him do whatever he does.
You, you stop logging in that account. Let him have your first attempt as a tiny dead farm. Start over. Your next location may well be far more peaceful - heck, you might even decide to be the evil, and get lucky and be the meanest bad-guy on your own new block.

Trust me when I say that half of what you say doesn't apply to 13 year old kids who have to stroke their egos, and lets be honest most of them do. Impet.
I have backup. In fact it was the first thing I looked for. So let him come to his own demise. But I am stating that I can see how this game can be a little overbearing on a new player.
I already said this once before on another forum. Having two sides is fine. Having two sides when only one side has all the power is not a good idea. Because then you are relying on the good nature of a person. You should be fully aware that when it comes to online persona that is a long shot.

Join a brotherhood. If you are being attacked by someone from a brotherhood they wills top attacking u for they dont want war. and if not your not being attacke by someone in a brotherhood than jsut ask brotherhood tol defend u. Or better yet do it they way i do if someone screws with one of my brothers. have all evil players send constanst attack just like the ones ur getting
As an Evil player that could be confused by some as a random attacker, I usually (not including people 12+ hours away, those are completely random, but only once ever) go through several tell-tale signs before I ever send out an attack.
For example, there is a guy I have attacked yesterday for frustrating me and being what I considered as a jerk.
Through 5 offers to negotiate any sort of a deal for resources that I desperately needed, and eventually resources I didn't really need, just to test how negotiable he was, his only response ever was "No." and "Nope."
And now that I think back, most of the reasons I attack are variations of that, or an offer to negotiate that is ignored for several days is just as bad.
Counter-offers, even bad ones, are a great answer. Giving a decent reason why the deal doesn't suit you, also good (less successful with other evil players, but good). Accepting the possibility of taking up the offer in the future, but not wanting to do so right away, also a good answer.
My point is, attacks from nearby Evil players is rarely a random, bully, event. Be civil and negotiable, and they will be in return.
Trade partners are worth MUCH more than farming towns for what we need and hoping you have it at the moment the attack goes through.
As an evil player as well, I have a bit of a different perspective. My lumberhut and stone quarry are capped at level 20. On top of that, Evil cities produce only 80% of the goods that a Good city does. We can't make iron or gold. I have several trading partners, but if they're not on when I'm on, my only options are to twiddle my thumbs until they log on or attack people nearby. I don't like asking for help in the first place, so I choose to attack.
This doesn't make me a 13 year old that needs to stroke my ego. I'm not doing it to be a "bully." In reality, I don't care what most of the people in this game think about me. It's just a game. Part of the difficulty with massively multiplayer online games is dealing with other people. If you lose repeatedly at a boss in final fantasy, a mission in Farcry, or a level in Starcraft, no one writes to the developers saying "you made this game too hard, you must be trying to stroke your egos." You either work through the challenge or put the game down and do something else. I don't see why user-generated difficulties should be any different. There's already noob protection that limits the amount of resources that can be stolen. And it's not a matter of size either. I'm the top account on world 3 and if an entire brotherhood decided they wanted to completely destroy my towns, there's probably not much I could do about it. You know what I'd do? Go play with my dog or watch House re-runs. This isn't life or death and there are certainly other ways people can spend their time.

well I'm an evil player and farm a few good villages nearby, but I only do it because I've watched their growth and have noticed inactivity and sent a message to them to see if they were active and when they didnt respond I went into farming them for resources, maybe if you randomly get attacked they thought you were inactive so sending a message saying your active should get some people to quit farming you
**Edit: Also if you think its too hard to play as a good character then delete your account and try again as an evil character and see if its really better for you
