Trade Carts capacity

When I try to trade with another town :cool::confused:(i.e. Evil to Good), I can't seem to figure out how much I can actually fill the cart up to. Any Help?

Each trade carts can carry up to 250.

250 = wood/stone/iron/weapons ....
And each trade cart can only carry 1 specific item. (You can't try to put Iron ore with Gold ore in 1 cart. They each need their own cart).
